food and drink
Sutherland House is not just a fine dining establishment, it is a neighbourhood restaurant which serves local food for local people. Guests are welcome to drop in for a glass of wine and a plate of tapas in front of the fire; a gourmet sandwich; home-made Black Pudding sausages and mash, or a British classic dish – or to come for a three course meal. There are affordable and more expensive dishes, ranging from £4.50 for a sandwich to £23.50 for a main course. Head Chef, Alan Paton has returned from London this week with 3 gold medals for pork based products using Jimmy Butlers Blythburgh free range pork and has come 3rd overall in Best Innovative Pork Category for his Black Pudding Fritters. In light of the recent campaign for pig farmers, see www.pigsareworthit.co.uk we at Sutherland House are now "giving back" £1 per pork main course to Blythburgh Free Range Pork to do our bit.
