- Sutherland House Hotel & Restaurant rated "excellent" by 13 travellers

Sutherland House is not just a fine dining establishment, it is a neighbourhood restaurant which serves local food for local people. Guests are welcome to drop in for a glass of wine and a plate of tapas in front of the fire (in winter); a gourmet sandwich; Fresh locally caught fish served fresh and innovatively daily; home-made Black Pudding sausages and mash, or a Modern British dish – or come for a three course meal. There are affordable and more expensive dishes, ranging from £5.95 for a sandwich to £23.50 for a main course. Sutherland House, being in Suffolk, is very fortunate to have some of the best produce, and because all our food is sourced locally, our produce is fresh and our farmers, fishermen are friends. Sutherland House has been awarded 3 gold medals for pork based products using Jimmy Butlers Blythburgh free range pork and has come 3rd overall in Best Innovative Pork Category for our Black Pudding Fritters in 2008. 2009 we came 2nd overall in Best Pork and Pastry Category for our Pork Pie with Piccalilli. Please veiw our sample menus to get an idea of what we are currently presenting for lunch and dinner. These menus change regularly due to the availability of produce so may not represent exactly what we have on offer when you visit. We will be delighted to send current menus to you if you request them.
